This Ceramic Water Pipe was a commissioned by a certified arborist. It was handmade using a slab construction technique, as are the slide/bowl and downstem.
Extra clay was added to the base to allow a more sculpted root system. All parts are assembled, formed, carved, detailed, bisque fired, glazed and fired again.
It's always a process working with clay and to make something special takes time. This helps the connection between the artist and the piece.When it's not being used recreationally it displays beautifully on it's own or while holding flowers.
